Olie's Blessing Day - March 20th

What a wonderful blessing weekend we had! We are so happy to have Olie in our lives and were so grateful to have family and friends join us for a special day. We decided to take some pics of the kids before church which ended up being a miracle for two reasons. #1 That we actually were ready in time to take pictures and #2 That the kids actually cooperated.

It was an absolutely beautiful spring day. Jared (joined by Grandpas, uncle Bob, Bishop Smith and friend Geoff) gave a very beautiful and touching blessing. Apparently Olie smiled the entire blessing. It was cute because at the end of the blessing you could hear all the men laugh, Jared said it was because they looked down and Olie was looking up at them with a huge grin. Dad claims he was smiling at a light fixture but I like to think that he was smiling at angels and the guys of course:)

One proud papa

Childhood friend Em and baby Grayson, who is 11 days older than Oliver, totally destined to be best friends:)

Smiley pants

Finally they took that silly suit of me!

We were so happy to have the Papworths, the Salmons (good friends) from Vernon, the Styles (childhood friend), Uncle Bob, Karla and kids and both Grandparents and aunt B join us for lunch and a little celebration after lunch. So happy to have wonderful friens and family.

DISCLOSER: Most of you probably know that a week after giving birth to Oliver I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy on the right side of my face. If you don't know what Bell's Pasly is, basically it is damage to the 7th cranial nerve resulting in paralysis on the face, mine affects the right side of my face. The cause is unknown and the prognosis is typically good but will take time. I've had it for 8 weeks and began to start seeing some small improvement around week 6. As you can tell from the pictures, I still have a long way to go. The improvements have been very slow but I am just so happy that I am getting better. I am hopeful for a full recovery within the year. Anyway, these are the first pictures I've had taken of me since I got Bell's Palsy and am feeling well enough now to even post them.
It's been an emotional ride but hopefully it will be over soon. Good thing I have an amazing family and amazing friends that have helped me through this crazy time.
P.S. It's springbreak and we are off to to Vegas, so check back in a week or so for updates!

That looks like it was a beautiful day! Also, I have to comment on the fact that I am jealous that you were all jacketless in the photos. It's March 26th, I'm STILL wearing my winter parka!
Andi, I had no clue you have Bell's Palsy. I'm so glad you're on the road to recovery. I'll keep you in my prayers. (I've had "Saturday Night Palsy"-there's a more technical term, but I don't know what it is- twice in my right arm, temporarily paralyzing my arm for a couple of months, and that was not fun! Does Bell's Palsy cause pain? I hope not!)
