Why I Love Camping May Long Weekend....

Because little girls camouflage their bike helmets and set traps to catch squirrels.......quality time is spent... ...best buds are formed....

...delicious treats are had.....
...special stories are told...
...time is spent with awesome friends....

...delicious food is cooked.... and enjoyed by all...
...games are played....

..and everyone is just so happy to finally be outside together!

What an awesome weekend we had at Scotch Creek with dear friends the Salmons, the kanes, the Quentins and new friends (and now dear:) the Casanovas. We look forward to this weekend every year and every year it lives up to its expectations. I just love the endless bike riding, the time at the beach, the lounging around, the campfires, the delicious food and fantatistic late night chats around the campfire. Our kids are already looking forward to next year.

Jorji had a go in the kayak this year all alone and did great. Her lips are purple from her popsicle earlier in the day.

Nate "accidently" fell in the lake. Still not sure how that one happened but he claims it was his favourite part of the trip. The lake is refreshing to say the least this time of the year but at least the sunshine was out...sorta. We weren't sure how little Ollie would do and I was prepared to go back and forth from home if need be but no need, he pretty much looked like this the entire time. Why did I ever doubt? These two were inseperable and quite adorable to watch. Lots of "learning" took place between the two of them and Lucy was just so thrilled to have a little playmate that could keep up with her. Lots of willing arms to hold little Ollie.

But a guy still needs to get his exercise! And his bath. "ohh, this is different"

So happy that camping season has begun! Can't wait for the summer. We've had such a busy month full of piano festivals, dance recitals, choir performances, soccer games and and even a broken bone. It was great to get away and just focus of family and friends. And I've even caught up with the laundry from the trip. Win!
