The other night when we were making spaghetti, we found some type of plastic lid in the can of tomatoes. It was the oddest thing. I called the company today and they informed me that my million is in the mail. Not really, but I'll probably get a new can or two.

Well, we just got back from a fantastic trip to Castlegar! We had a blast visiting with Doug, Bernice and Rob and Steph. We did a ton while we were there and as illustrated by this pic of Nathan, the kids had a great time. Thanks Doug and Bernice for everything!!! It was a great last hoorah before the start of real life again! We spent most of our time at Siringa Creek Provincial Park. The weather was beautiful and water perfect!
Jorji kept busy the entire time painting with sticks and rocks and making music with sticks and rocks. Who needs toys? I wonder if sticks and rocks would go over well at Christmas...
She also loved building sand castles, seadooing and tubing.

We had a great time hanging out with Rob and Steph this past week, even though they are newly weds! haha. Jordan is a speed demon on the seadoos. As soon as she gets on and the seadoo gets started, she punches the throttle, and wants to go 'faster' the whole time! She's too scared to watch "Over the Hedge," but she'll go tubing behind the seadoo, go high speeds on the seadoo and jump off anything! What a girl1
Nacy is such a stud. He looks like a true beach boy with his while hair and bright blue eyes.
Nathan enjoys Pina Colada's on the beach and getting caught in the rain.

While Rob and Jared were golfing their 45 holes!!!!!!, the girls took the kids to Nancy Green Lake, which is a beautiful little mountain Lake not far from Castlegar. Bernice called the water 'refreshing' but I prefer the term bone chilling. Nacer was such a sport and had a blast on all the outings. He's such a beach bum.
Jordan had a blast playing with sticks and rocks and 'fishing.' She's so busy these days, it's impossible to get her to look up for a picture. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

One of the highlights of the trip was going for a 70 km bike trip on the Kettle Valley. It was a blast, part of the ride included going through this tunnel (and a few more!) which required the use of flashlights. The first few km's were uphill but only a 2% grade because it's an old railway, the majority was downhill (still only 2%) and about 6 km was rocky trail.
There were gorgeous views of the Lower Arrowhead Lake along the ride. There literally was a cliff on the other side of the rock we were standing on. We like taking our lives in our own hands!

Jordan's first haircut! Well....first haircut that she didn't administer herself. A couple of weeks ago I was out with Nathan and I got a call from my panicked husband at home! Jared had been in our bedroom when Jordan came in and said "Dad, look, I'm beautiful!" She had found little manicure scissors and given herself a nice layered haircut. I was so scared to come home and prepared for the worse, but when I saw it, I was so relieved to see that she had done a fastastic job! Still though, she now knows that she doesn't cut her own hair! We're so happy to have a hairdresser in the family now. Thanks Steph for all the cuts! Jared used his brute man power to dig his dad a hole.

Jordan in a potato sack race at the Oviatt reunion at the end of July. She loved it and was very good - Keeping our hopes dreams for her athletic career alive (ha ha ...kinda). Jordan and cousin Abbey hit it off great at the reunion. They played the whole time.
Nathan and cousin Kenzie (Karla's baby). I couldn't resist posting this pic of Kenzie, what a face (just like her mommy! haha)!
Nathan trying to eat kenzie or give her a big fat kiss, we're not sure which one.

The last weekend in July we went to Lethbridge to visit Jared's sisters and go to the Oviatt family reunion in Cardston. It was a fun trip, but long car rides! The kiddos did great, Jordan just wanted to "go the other way." Me with my cousin Jana. "HAVE A GOOD DAY!"
