Camping May Long Weekend at Scotch Creek
Aie! I have so much to blog from the past month. We have been busy with dance recitals (two weekends of it to be exact), soccer games and practices, a visit from the Floyds, planting and preparing our garden and flower beds, painting our basement and Jared's trip to Quebec. All of which I hope to blog in the next couple of days. It's also amazing how busy I feel now that I am working again, even though it is only two days a week. Spring is in full swing here, flowers are in full bloom and the smell of sunscreen is in the air. I LOVE this time of year with all the hecticness that it brings. May long weekend, we decided to get away from all the yard work, house work and other social responsibilities and pack up our truck and tent trailor for a weekend with friends in the woods at Scotch creek. We had a fabulous time as always. This was our tent trailor's maiden voyage and we were thrilled with our 1978 Lextra.
I can't lie, the kids ate a lot of roasted marshmellows. I mean a lot. Sometimes earlier in the day than I would like to admit.
Marching like "Peter Pan" around the campsite nice and early in the morning.

"Go Nathan, Go!"
Some friends overheard Nathan say to himself as he burned past them on his bike.
One of the best parts about Scotch Creek is the biking. We had a nice paved road right for the kids to ride on. Nathan got so good while we were there and would often be seen speeding by. I went for a run one morning and took Jordan with me on her bike. We went through some pretty narrow dirt trails and Jordan manoevered them so well. I think it's almost time to get her a mountaing bike with some gears. She was awesome as she rode with the million boys we had with us in our group.

And the best little camper award goes to......
Lucy! Seriously, she did so well. We even managed to get her to take her naps in the trailor. She was so happy to walk around and play with the others. She was by far the youngest in our group so she enjoyed lots of extra attention from the older kids and soaked it all up.

Everyday we would meet at the park for a big baseball game for the kids. Jordan totally kept up with all the boys and had a blast. She is fearless and so strong.Posted by Picasa

Shuswap Lake in the middle of May? Yikes!

Nathan turned over a new leaf this weekend as he went swimming in freezing water! He has always been our little cold water wimp, but not this weekend, he put us all to shame. We were very proud.Posted by Picasa
We had such a nice time at the beach. It's by far the easiest place for our family to be right now with our ages. Everyone is easily entertained and nobody ever strays too far from the group. Mom and dad even get to relax a bit!

The morning we are leaving for home. Looks like it's time for a good night sleep in our big comfy beds at home. Thands Smiths, Cummings and Hollitses for a great weekend!Posted by Picasa
