Nathan turned 3 December 28th! It's hard to believe that it has already been three years since delivering my beautiful Christmas baby. We sure love our little Nank. Not only is he speaking a ton now but his sense of humour is becoming more and more entertaining. He loves to tell knock knock jokes and to try to make people laugh by acting silly like putting things on his head (sound like anyone we know? Although jared doesn't really tell good knock knock jokes:) He loves to wrestle with dad but always tells jared "I'm the bad guy and you are spiderman!" He loves bad guys. Not sure if I should worry about that one yet or not. One of the funniest things he does right now is say "just kidding" if you tell him to stop doing something or to be careful. For example, he starts climbing up the railing of the stairs on the side without the stairs, so I say "Nate, be careful, get down!" and he answers with a huge smile "I'm just kidding mom!" as he climbs down. Or if he hurts Lucy accidently, it's always followed by "just kidding mom!" I think it's actually great. I think I might start doing that when I make a mistake. He loves Lightning McQeen and anything with wheels. He absolutely loves puzzles and can put them together faster than me. In fact, a nursery worker (who happened to be my aunt) was so impressed by his puzzle solving ability that she called him a genius. He loves being chased. He loves building things and trains. He loves playing his new game "Tummy ache" and will play all day. He loves every type of ball and stick. He loves playing on the computer. He is getting so smart, last night while reading a story he asked me what "serious" meant after I read the word in the story. We love our little man!
In this picture: Jared is trying not to burn himselt, Nathan is trying to be patient and Jordan is mad probably because it's Nathan's birthday and not hers.
Blowing out candles is always a group effort at our house.
Nathan is so lucky to have a birthday during the holidays so he can share it with his aunts and uncles who are home for Christmas. We were so happy to have mom and dad, Zach, Jared and Britt over to share in the festivities.

We had such a fun Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa King's this year. We had such a relaxing time which was just what we needed. We played games, went sledding, went snowshoeing and ate great food. While we were there Jordan said to Grandma "Grandma I like your fridge better than ours, it has more than just vegetables." A true grandma's house!
Nanky loved opening presents this year! In fact he couldn't get enough. He's finally stopped talking about Santa Claus coming again and is finally excepting life without presents. His birthday is Dec. 28th, so he has a week of constant presents, so he gets in the habit of opening presents every other day, with presents coming by mail and when we see family etc. Lucy loved Christmas morning especially playing with the wrapping paper! And yes, that is a carrot in her hand. Rudolph left part of a carrot for Lucy to much on with her five teeth and counting...

Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, Santa came early to give the kids their Christmas jammies. This was Lucy's second time sitting on a Santa-like figure this season and surprizingly, it just doesn't faze her. No tears, no trying to climb away, nothing. She is such a happy little girl, not even a jolly, old, fat strange man can bring her down.Thursday, January 08, 2009
Starring: Jordan as Mary, Nathan as Super Joseph (the only way we could get him in a costume was to pretend he was dressing up like a superhero, thus the birth of "Super Joseph"), Steph as the expectant shepherd, Lucy as a sheep, Jess as the angel of the Lord, and last but not least, Bernice as narrator and lastly, Jared, Doug and Rob as"the three Kings" (we thought that was appropriate too) . It was a fabulous show that got raving reviews. Props to the costume crew that managed to find all these costumes in Doug and Bernice's closet.

Jorji had a great time dancing
My not so little bro and I.
This was the first time I'd seen Nate in about an hour and a half. He literally disappeared during the reception. I know what you are thinking - I'm a horrible mom. But it wasn't like that. They actually had babysitters in the nursery for kids. We also had jared's entire family there who watched our kids for most of the night. For the guests keepsakes, Caleb and Kailey had a candy bar set up which Nathan frequented more than I would like to admit. At the very end of the night I found Nathan with Grandma King walking down the hall and he looked up at me, his face completely green, and said "mom, I'm not sick," which of course usually means the opposite in our house.
