Surviving Winter...

A couple of weeks ago, our little family needed an adventure so we headed off to Silver Star for the weekend. It did not disappoint. It was just what we needed. We had the 3 s's, sun (which we have not had in a VERY long time), beautiful snow and speed! We stayed at mom and dad's 'little house' up on the hill and spent a lot of time in the hot tub and out playing in the snow.

This was the kids first time on the minisleds. Needless to say, they LOVED it. Jordan even got a few bonus laps in there because she couldn't hear us to tell her to stop through her helmet and the noise from the sled. It was perfect, the worker tried to usher her forward to pull over, but when he waved her forward she took off innocently. Jared was even whistling to try to get her attention, but she left us in the dust as we could hearing her screaming "whoo whoo!"

Nate was in heaven. He handled this baby like a total champ. He's been asking to go everyday since.

It's been such a wierd winter, we have had no snow in Salmon Arm, so the kids were SOOO happy to be able to play, slide and climb in the snow.

We also took the kids skiing on Saturday night. We had Lucy for some of it so Jared was amazing trying to teach both kids to ski on his own. Jordan's been a couple of times over the last few years but she picked it up right away. I had a couple of parents from school mention that they saw Jordan in a lesson on Saturday night. I mentioned it to jared and he didn't know what they were talking about but that jordan was on her own for a lot of it. So we think she joined up with a lesson, and started following an instructor down the hill. So funny.

This was Nate's first time skiing ever! I was so proud of him. He didn't complain at all and seemed to really enjoy himself. When I asked him about skiing, he said " you just make a pizza and then fall down, that's how you do it!" We are so grateful to mom and dad for letting us stay up there for the weekend, it was just what our family needed. We can't wait for Saturday to take the kids up again!

Little lulubelle has been obsessed with wearing her bathing suit around the house (although it's usually with no clothes underneath). It actually comes in quite handy when she spills her water. She also loves shoes.

January 19th was Great Grandma Lee's birthday. We had such a fun party at aunt Michelle's. The kids were so proud and happy to give her the gifts they had made. We love our grandma!

We also celebrated mom's birthday this past Monday. Britt has the pictures from that celebration. We had such a fun time eating at Golden Crown (a family tradition) and blizzard ice cream cake and bowling on the Wii. Love ya mom!
