New House in Salmon Arm!

This month has been a whilwind for our little family. With jared and I both working in Salmon Arm, selling our house, trying to find a new house in Salmon Arm, Jared continuing with his schooling and me being very pregnant, things have been a little hectic for the Kings lately. But I am happy to say that we made it through the last couple of months and now I am officially done teaching, we've sold our house and just last weekend we purchased this house in Salmon Arm (I hope this isn't a little premature as our house inspection is today!). We take possession March 1rst, the same day we need to be out of our house. Oh yeah and the baby is due March 6th!!! This is the first child I've had where I didn't want to have it early, I just want it to stay nice and safe in my belly until after the move:)
We had a heck of a time finding a place in SA (about 45 minutes north of Vernon) due to low supply this time of year and so we are thrilled to have found this house. It's a house we saw last fall and liked but was taken off the market and so we were able to buy it exclusively. We're excited to have so much more room and to live on a dead end street that the kids can safely ride bikes on! The house is in a great neighbourhood right behind Jared's school, it will take him about 5 minutes to walk to work.
So in the next couple of weeks we are moving, having a baby, Jared's report cards are due and we are speaking in church on Sunday! Yikes! Wish us luck! We'll post more pics of the new house once we are settled.

SOLD

About a month ago, we sold our beloved little home in Vernon. This was our first house that we bought and we've loved it dearly. But after three years of commuting to Salmon Arm, it's time to move on. When introducing the idea of moving to Jordan, she was understandably upset. But then when we mentioned the possibility of living in a pink house she perked right up.

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa King

The kids love it when Jared's parents come to visit. We've been fortunate to see them a few times already this year! They usually come bearing cheese, chicken and whatever other treats they've picked up from their latest trip to the U.S. And of course they always bring lots of love and patience for the kids. It was nice to have here to watch the kids one week while I worked.

While they were here, we had a little birthday party for Bapa King! Happy 25th Doug!

These pics are oldies but goodies. We went to visit Grandma and Grandpa King after Christmas this year in Castlegar. The kids (big and little:) always have a blast when we go there. They have a great sledding hill just down the road from them where we go every year.

Our Little Man is Two!!!

Jared and I decided that there wasn't enough happening in between Christmas and New Year's, so two years ago on December 28th, we decided to have a baby - and our little Nathan came into the world! He is such a little character, we can't imagine life without him and his crazy little antics.

I think Nathan is officially tired of opening presents!

A few weeks before Nathan's birthday, Jared and I figured he was a prime candidate to be held back in school because of his late birthday. But a week before his birthday, Nathan decided to start talking! It's amazing, tonight, he said six words in a row! They were "Let's do this thing, mommy daddy!" - One of our family's favourite sayings since watching Ratatouille. He really has grown up so much in the last month, which makes having a third child in about two months seem a little less crazy.

Jordan was activity coordinator for Nathan's party. This is us after nailing "Pin the Tail on the Donkey." Some of the other activities included musical chairs and a play narrated by Jared. We all had parts.

Christmas Evening!

Everyone looking fabulous for Christmas dinner at mom and dad's house. We were so happy to have Grandma Lee or to Jordan and Nathan "Grandma Audrey" here for Christmas! We almost caught everyone with their eyes open, a feat too great to achieve with my family.

Nathan enjoying his gift from Santa. Jared decided it was high time the boy got a basketball hoop, he's been in training ever since.

Jordan is the best during the holidays. She appreciates everything and loves every part of it!

Nathan had some important calls to make right before Christmas dinner.

After much deliberation over where we should 'sleep' Christmas Eve, we couldn't resist the lure of a house full of people and decided to stay overnight at mom and dad's. We were so glad we did! We were able to do so much on Christmas Eve and it was so fun to be part of the chaos on Christmas morning. The kids were thrilled with Santa's visit!

It was nice to have everyone home for Christmas (minus the Floyds). Many games of killer bunnies were played. My parents got the family a Wii (which is so much fun by the way!) so many, many games were played on that as well! A great way to burn off some of those Christmas calories...

Santa Came Early!

Santa paid the kids an early visit Christmas Eve to bring the kids their new Christmas PJ'!

Nathan was apprehensive at first until Jared pulled his beard so Nathan could get a sneak peak at who was under the attire! When he realized it was a familiar face he ran right to the big guy!

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever....

Our church's live nativity didn't run on Christmas eve this year so it gave us an opportunity to do our own! Jordan, our little organizer had Jared narrarate the story on the microphone.

Nathan was the dilinquent Joseph who wouldn't keep his costume on and spent most of the time drinking fresca!

Jordan, of course, was Mary and was very impressive. She played the role perfectly and was very reverent!

Britt, Caleb and Jared had to double up on roles and the shepherds and the wise men, they too were fantastic and great sports:)
