There was so much snow that we dug a hole and propped Nathan inside. It was perfect while we worked on the snowcave because he couldn't move around. He did eventually start to panic probably when he realized that he couldn't move his legs, but he was pretty content for the most part! Just happy to be outside!
Daddy digging out the snow cave for our "picnic"
Jordan laughing hysterically as people are being thrown into the snow. Like most kids, other peoples misfortunes are her delight!
Jordan is about to give Nathan a friendly tap in this picture. Nathan has no idea what's coming , poor guy. Both kids have a need for speed when it comes to sledding. Posted by Picasa

Jordan at 3 Nathan at 1
New Year, new portraits! After a disastrous trip to the Walmart photo studio, I came home determined to take some better pics of the kids. Ahh, the power of editing and bribery....

Happy Birthday Nacer!Nathan turned 1 on December 28th! We celebrated with family in Caslegar. Jared and I took the kids sledding that day (pics to follow) and then we had a delicious spaghetti dinner and cake. Nathan's favourite part of the meal was the garlic bread. And he did love the cake! Congratulations little man on turning 1!The fam at the party! Jordan loves birthdays and we often have pretend parties at home where we pretend to blow out candles. So it's even better when it's a real party!
Playing with some of his gifts. He plays so well and is so busy all the time.
Here are some tidbits about Nathan in honour of his birthday: He has six teeth, with one more on the brink. He loves chasing balls around the house, almost like a little kitten. His favourite word is "hi" and we can say it back and forth all morning. He also love to say "boo!" and then I'll say it back and he laughs hysterically. He walks and loves to carry sharp objects when he walks. He loves to cuddle. He loves life cereal. He thinks Jordan is hilarious. He has the blondest hair and bluest eyes that attract attention everywhere we go. He is the sweetest little boy and we love him dearly. And most importantly, he slept through the night the past two nights!!! Hooray!

Men at Work. It's a King family Christmas tradition to have the men dress in their tool belts and hard hats and take provocative pictures of them. Not really. But it is a tradition that each of the men get a tool belt and hard hat with their name on it for Christmas. This year Rob got his, I guess he finally must have reached manhood.

The tradition started when Doug got his set for Christmas and he surprised everyone by coming out wearing his hard hat and tool belt with just boxer shorts. It sort of took off from there.

Christmas Morning!! Believe it or not but our kids actually slept in on Christmas morning. (well sorta, Nathan was up at 5 but went back down). Jared and I know a good thing when we see it so we stayed in bed as long as possible but were soon awaken by Rob, Jared's 23 year old married brother who couldn't take it any longer. Jordan got spoiled as usual and loved every minute of it! Since coming home, she's been so busy putting on puppet shows, using all her cook and bake wear and playing with her dolls.

The kids in their new Christmas PJ's Nathan actually enjoyed unwrapping presents. He even enjoyed what was inside! It was nice because he's pretty much as old as he could be for it being his first Christmas.
Doug made Jordan a beautiful baby cradle for her dolls. Thanks Doug!
Jared and Doug incredibly, bought eachother pruners and calipers for eachother for Christmas!! They think exactly the same. They even both thought it would be funny to wrap each other's presents like this!

Christmas Eve!
The whole fam. Bernice was desperate (kidding, sort of) for family pictures this Christmas, so before church on Christmas Eve we had a little photo shoot of the whole gang. I only wish someone had told me to wear red or black!
The grandkids. Bernice made the girls dresses and got Nathan his adorable duds. Jordan was getting pretty excited at this point for Christmas however she did make it very clear that we would not be seeing Santa because he'll come when we are sleeping. She's not too fond of the jolly old man.

Before.......... and after......
Jared finally got his hair cut on Friday. It looks so different to us because it's unlike anything he's ever had. I like it though, well, with a face like that, you can't really go wrong! Posted by Picasa
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree! A week ago monday we set up our Christmas tree. We went to a tree farm and cut it down. It was at night so it was kinda risky because we didn't know what it would look like in the day, but we love it, and loved it from the moment we saw it! We gave Jordan and Nathan the daunting task of putting the lights on the tree. It took them awhile but they did a beautiful job! hehe
Nathan loved the apple ornaments.
Actually both kids loved the apple ornaments. The bottom third of the tree had so many ornaments on it when Jordan was done with it. When she went to bed we evened it out a bit.

Happy 23rd Birthday Zach on December 1st! Well, we successfully made it through birthday week with Jess, Zach and my birthday all within days of eachother. Fun was had by all. For Zach's bday we went to the Italian Kitchen for dinner. Yum...I love that place ...I even discovered a new dish called "Feta Feta." Then we went to the Seaton play "The Gifts of the Magi," which was really entertaining.
This is Zach's expression after realizing that his candles play "Happy Birthday!"...amazing.
This is mom very pleased with herself that she found musical candles
This is Britt with her beau Matt shocked and confused by the musical candles...I mean how do they do that?
P.S. Zach has pics of my birthday bash on his camera. I may or may not ever get around to dowloading them here and posting them. You'll have to wait and see! Posted by Picasa
We have had so much snow, the kids have had fun playing outside in it. Even though Nathan can't walk yet, he loves going out too. He doesn't want me to hold him though so he pretty much just rolls around in the snow and tries to crawl but his massive snowsuit usually prevents him from crawling effectively. Check out his toother in this pic. They've been coming in like mad. Our nights have been very pleasant, but how can you get mad at that face! Posted by Picasa
