There was a great park at the resort that the kids loved. So I guess I have yet to attend a true "Girls Weekend."The talk of the street is Woman's conference next May with my mom and sisters down in Utah. There you go girls, it's been blogged, therefore must be done!

The Start of a Beautiful Relationship?
Jordan had a great first year of soccer. They played 3-3 with 3 girls in goal (holding hands), but it would usually be less because one or two of her players would always drop out before the end of the game:) Jordan seemed to grasp the concept of the game quite quickly unless she got thirsty or noticed something interesting on another field. It was so fun! I can't imagine a better place to be on a beautiful Saturday morning than at the field with the family watching her run her little guts out and have fun!

The Passing of a Great Man...
Last Friday, June 6th, my Grandpa Hill passed away at the age of 96 in Calgary, Alberta. I love this picture of him that was taken at our family reunion in Panarama last summer. This is how I will always remember him, with a big smile on his face. Some of my favourite memories of him are when I was quite young, Jess and I would sit on his lap, take his comb out of his shirt pocket and play with his hair. We would comb it and put berrets in it - what a patient grandfather! I also remember the highly anticipated "blanket show," each time we visited. He was always so loving. I loved getting to know him as I got older and hearing stories about his life growing up on the farm. Being born in 1912, he had seen a lot in his life. In celebration of his 95th birthday, his three daughters and all their families met in Panorama for a family reunion. I'll never forget seeing my 95 year old grandpa riding the gondola! I'm so glad that my children were able to meet my grandpa. When I learned of his passing, Jordan could tell that I was upset, so I told her that Grandpa Hill went to live with Heavenly Father. My little girl who just turned 5 responded with "That's ok, mom. You'll see him again!" Yes, Jordan, we will all see Grandpa again. In the meantime, I'm sure there is a great reunion going on in heaven with Grandma. Love you Grandpa!

Ok, so we are back! Due to technical difficulties, I have not been able to post for two months!! It turned out to be a weak internet connection provided to us by our local internet company (telus here we come). But that's not the point. The point is I now have two months to catch up on! Because I use this as a record of our family history (admitedly a weak one, but a record none the less!), Iwas a little overwhelmed at the prospect of 'catching up' but alas I am done! I've spent the majority of the day blogging, in between making sandwiches, changing diapers, feeding baby, playing catch and mediating children of course. So much has happened! The next five or six posts are what we have been up to since March....

Lucy: Lucy rolled over from front to back for the first time at six weeks! It was amazing! I wouldn't have believed it if i didnt' see it with my own eyes! She also had her first set of shots and handled it like a champ. She has cooing for about 2 weeks now and is also sleeping through the night! I almost don't want to say it outloud at risk of jinxing it, but she has been sleeping through the night and I feel fantastic. Go Lucy! Keep up the good work!
Nathan: Nathan has started potty training and did fantastic for a few days but unfortunately the novelty has now worn off. We know he can do it because he was going voluntarily for the first couple of days.
Jordan: Jordan has started soccer and loving it. sniff sniff, tear, tear (of joy of course!) She also turns five in a couple of weeks.
I've been playing soccer too and it feels fantastic to be back!

Jared, the Graduate!! Last weekend, Jared, Lucy and Iwent down to Spokane for Jared's graduation for his Masters degree in Administration and Leadership from Gonzaga University. After a long two years of taking weekend classes
down in Kelowna he has officially graduated. Well, not really quite yet, but he did have his ceremony and get a fake diploma!
He will officially be done his classes and thesis the second week in July, hooray! We had the best time in Spokane, we dropped
off Nathan and Jordan at Grandma and Grandpa King in Castlegar, so it was just Lucy and us. Lucy travelled like a champ
and was the best little baby. We spent a lot of time shopping (Lucy shopped like a pro), walking down the river and downtown
and enjoying all the fine cuisine that Spokane has to offer. We simply cannot go to Spokane without a trip to the Olive Gargen.
A few of Jared's professors had a dinner after graduation for his cohort which was really nice of them. It was a great opportunity to meet his teachers and classmates and to show off Lucy, who did not disappoint.

We had Lucy blessed Sunday May 4th in our ward in S.A. She was peaceful during the blessing which always makes dad's job a lot easier! We were so happy to have both sets of grandparents, the Bob Papworth family, the Chris Papworth family, Grandma Audrey, Auntie Lynn and Uncle Rob, Auntie Barb and Uncle Bill, Grandma Audrey, and our good friends the Salmons here for the blessing and a big celebration lunch after the blessing. It was a great day! The weather was beautiful so the cousins and friends could play outside and the adults could enjoy lots of quality visiting time! Thanks Lucy for bringing us all together, we love celebrating you!

Mom made her this beautiful....ahh I can't remember the name....hair piece?? to wear with her beatiful dress. She looked beautiful! This is the same dress that Jordan wore for her blessing day. When Jordan saw Lucy Sunday morning she said "Lucy looks like a beautiful bride!"

Nathan hates photo shoots, so with the help of a knudging hand (seen in the far left hand side of the picture), we were able to get a pic with all of the kids, and believe it or not this was the best one. Jordan on the other hands, eats up these opportunities to be in front of a camera!

More pictures from Lucy's blessing day....

Zach and Jared had a break from school early April so they came out to meet Lucy! It was love at first sight!

At the beginning of April, Jess and Matt drove the kids up to BC from their new home in Vancouver Wa, to meet for a visit and to meet little Lucy. It was so fun to see them and to have them within driving distance, yippee! We had a fantastic visit at mom and dad's for the first part of the week going to parks, playing outside and basically just visiting and catching up! It's always wonderful to be at mom and dad's because they help so much with the kids. For the second part of the week they came up to S.A. and stayed with us. Lucy was only about four weeks old at the time but was already a smiling fool.

We can't wait to go and visit the Floyds this summer in July!

More Fun with Cousins....

While Jess and the kids were with us in Salmon Arm, we went to visit Grandma Audrey (as our kids know her as - Grandma Lee to Jess and I:) She has such a nice place on the Lake and it's always so fun to visit with her. Sorry Jess, your eyes were closed in all the pics I took!

What's a Floyd visit without some adorable Jorji and Livy pictures. These little girls have so much fun together. They were born three weeks apart and Jess and I were both living in Houston TX at the time, so these little girls knew eachother in the womb as Jess and I would bump bellies and let them play!



The kiddos at bedtime. I can't believe I got a picture with all of them relatively sitting still and looking at me! This picture was followed by a huge pillow fight and wrestling match on the beds.

First time at the salon.....


I knew Jordan would love it, but i was a little nervous to take the Nacer in to a barber to get his hair cut. Surprisingly he turned out to be a star customer and took the whole process very seriously! I guess he only hates it when I try to do it! (But probably with good reason..., the last time we cut his hair, he was asleep and woke up to Grandma and I both with scissors and combs attacking his poor little head - I guess that could be traumatizing to any sleeping child.). Props to our hairdresser for doing a great job.

Later this morning, after taking these pics, Jess and I took the kids in to get their hair cut. I was not in the mood to wrestle Nathan and do it myself .

Grandma's trampoline was once again, a huge attraction with all the cousins. They laughed and cried (mostly cried) as they struggled to take turns and not kill eachother on the trampoline.
